Q. How to account altitude change in Strelok Pro?

A. In Strelok Pro if you measure and enter pressure, humidity and temperature this is enough for trajectory calculation. Altitude changing is accounted in pressure changing

To account your altitude change, you need:
1. Measure muzzle speed at different temperatures and enter these values to the program as described here: http://www.strelokpro.online/StrelokPro/android/configuration.html
2. Zero your rifle and save zeroing weather conditions
3. Measure weather conditions at place of shooting and enter these values as current weather. Altitude changing is accounted in pressure changing
Density altitude and altitude is not the same! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Density_altitude
There are many combination of temperature, pressure and humidity that will give you the same Density Altitude - but muzzle velocity is also a function of temperature. So, please, don’t use density altitude, but temperature, pressure and humidity

A. Create Dropbox account. https://www.dropbox.com/basic It’s free.

1. Link iStrelok to Dropbox and make "Export rifles to Dropbox"
2. Link Strelok Pro to Dropbox and make "Export rifles to Dropbox". Necessary folder will be created.
3. On any device locate file Dropbox/Apps/iStrelok/rifles.srl. Copy it to folder Dropbox/Apps/StrelokPro to replace existing one.
4. Start Strelok Pro and make Import rifles from Dropbox.

Q. I have a (Nightforce, Leupold, Bushnell, etc) scope with MilDot Recticle
Is that in your library of recticles? If yes which one would I have to choose and if no is there a chance you could include it in one of your next updates?

A. MilDot - this is standard reticle and it already listed in my program, so you can select from the list reticle with name "MilDot (USMC)" and use it.

 


Q. How do I set your app to accept my 20 MOA base?

A. There is the difference between physical incline of the scope and incline line of view inside of the scope. First depends from base, second - not. It depends only from scope height above barrel and zero distance. If you entered correct scope height above barrel and zero distance, you already accounted your 20 MOA base.


Q. Is there a way to set barrel length?

A. Barrel length is accounted in the muzzle speed value. Longer barrel has faster speed. If you input muzzle speed to the program, it means what barrel length already accounted. Best way is to measure you muzzle speed with chrono.


Q. What is your definition of "scope height"?

A. Distance between center line of scope and center line of bore. Like here.


Q. Could you try to explain how to use "truing" feature?

A. Suppose, you input muzzle speed as 2648 f/s
Shoot at distance bigger than zero distance. Suppose this is 800 yards. Calculated elevation for this distance is 26 MOA
Find out REAL elevation is needed to hit the target. Suppose this is 27 MOA.
On the trajectory validation screen input Distance as 800 yards and Elevation as 27 MOA
Tap button "Calculate" and speed at which elevation will be equal 27 MOA will be calculated. It this case, it will be 2609 f/s
Tap button "Use this velocity" and this calculated speed will replace your current cartridge speed (2648->2609) and screen will be closed.
On the main screen tap "Calculate" button and you will get calculated elevation which equals REAL elevation and equals 27 MOA
Now you can input any distance and hit the target.
